Summer missionary reports from South Asia

The following message was written by Melissa R., one of Temple’s summer missionaries. Her report on her activities in South Asia was forwarded by Minister of Missions John King.

I’ve been blessed to serve this summer in South Asia. As of now, I’ve been here for just over a month. I can’t believe how fast the time has flown, and the Father has recently given me an even greater sense of urgency to go out and meet people and share His goodness with them.

Over the past few weeks I’ve been joining in with my partner and roommate, Brandi, and the work she’s been involved in for the past five months. We’ve been teaching an English class and through that have been able to share His story and our story with some of the people in the class. Also, He has opened a door at a salon near where we live full of people eager to read The Book. We have already given out two copies of it, and multiple people at the salon are currently reading it! Please lift up this salon and the people there, that He would reveal Himself to them through the Word, and for more opportunities to speak Truth into their lives.

Tomorrow Brandi leaves to start her journey heading back to the States. Please lift her up as she is preparing to leave and that He would comfort and sustain her through this time. Ask that He would give her an excitement to share when she gets home, and continue on the path that He has called her to. Also, please be lifting me up in the transition period that is about to begin with me now not having Brandi with me.

Today something really cool happened! This morning during my time alone with the Father I was just asking Him to provide me with opportunities to meet people and make connections that would last after Brandi leaves. After lunch today at the mall, Brandi and I were walking and two girls initiated a conversation with us. One of the girls invited me to her home, and so we exchanged numbers and are planning on getting together soon. I was just amazed at His goodness and faithfulness to answer my request AND so quickly! How He orchestrated that event just really gave me hope and a renewed sense of purpose for my remaining time here! Please be lifting up this girl, and ask that I would be bold enough to share when we meet up in the near future and that she would be receptive!

Thanks so much for your support in this summer, and I will try and update soon on what is happening here in South Asia!
