By Missions Minister John King
India, Montreal, Nicaragua, South Louisiana. It is exciting to see how Temple Baptist Church is getting more and more involved in Hands-on Missions! But crossing cultures to share the Gospel is complicated. If we’re not careful, what we are trying to say will not be heard or, worse yet, misunderstood. That is why we are launching Basic Training for Mission Teams, a six-week study for Temple members who want to prepare themselves for effective, short-term mission teams. This study will cover the basics of mission strategy, cross-cultural sensitivity, and team dynamics, among other things.
Whether you are planning on taking a mission trip this summer or in the future, this study will help you become a more effective cross-cultural representative of the Kingdom of God. This class is required for all first-time adult mission trip participants, but is open to others as well. The group will meet on Sunday afternoons at 4:30 p.m. If you are interested in attending, join us for an informational meeting on March 11, 2012, at 4:30 p.m. in Room 76.
