Operation Christmas Child shoebox collection nears

You can help to brighten a child’s Christmas and spread the Gospel through Operation Christmas Child. There’s still time to prepare a shoebox to go to a child who might otherwise receive no gift for Christmas. The OCC folks (a division of Samaritan’s Purse), will organize delivery of the boxes along with a Gospel message. See this previous post for details about preparing the boxes. The deadline for bringing the boxes to the church is Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011.

We also need volunteers to help with Temple’s role as a Regional Relay Center. Volunteers will process shoeboxes and pack them into cartons for shipping. Help will be needed 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 14-19 and 2-6 p.m. Nov. 20. If you can help, call Minister of Childhood Education Sally Hearn in the Church Office (255-3745).
