Successful ‘Released’ III held Sunday

Despite extreme heat and vacations, approximately 200 Temple members participated in the July 31 “Released” session. A surprise downpour of rain punctuated the 4 p.m. beginning of the session, ending as participants dashed through dwindling drops to head to their assignments.

The deacon-led teams scattered to Baptist Collegiate Ministries, Boys and Girls Club, Christian Community Action, Life Choices, Louisiana Tech’s campus, Louisiana Tech’s baseball field, Princeton Place, the RA racetrack, Rolling Hills Ministries, Temple’s mission house and The Arbor. Other members went to private homes to minister to homebound people.

Temple’s “Released” sessions are held on fifth Sunday afternoons. Regular Sunday evening activities are canceled, enabling members to go into the community for service projects.

Pictures from the July 31 session will be posted here in the near future. Please return to take a look at them in addition to keeping up with other news about Temple’s mission activities.
