Church planters learn basics of Baptist ordinances

From Missions Coordinator John King:

These are three of the church planters that Temple's team is training.

On Thursday we started two days of church planting training with a group of church planters from Madhya Pradesh. This group of six guys traveled four hours by train to get to the training site, outside of Indore. They are all leading house churches that they planted in small villages. None of them have completed high school, and one has never attended school. However, they are hard at work to advance the Gospel and eager to learn from Scripture. This is the third time that our International Mission Board partner has worked with this group.

Dr. Rick teaches practical aspects of baptism as well as the biblical principles underlying it.

Dr. Rick Byargeon is right at home training these guys. After Jesse reviewed some of the church planting training, Dr. Rick taught them the biblical meaning of the Lord’s Supper and Baptism. Then he gave them opportunities to practice both outside the water. At one point, he “saved” one of the students who was almost dropped during the process by another student! Tomorrow (Friday) Dr. Rick will be teaching a biblical theology that traces the highlights of the entire Bible, without notes. Pray for Him!

Meal time!

The folks from Temple enjoyed curry as part of the Indian cuisine. This picture shows Casey Casady preparing to eat curry with his bare hands. John King commented in his email message, “We all did.”
