Update gives more details about Beach Reach

Late Saturday afternoon Missions Coordinator John King sent the following update about Beach Reach activities.

Thanks for praying for us. We got in to Panama City at 1 o’clock this morning. We checked into the Majestic Hotel and crashed immediately.

This morning we slept in and had some free time. We ate lunch, drove around the beach strip, and met some of the Spring Breakers as they were arriving. After dinner tonight with the rest of the group, we have an orientation session that will give us more details about what to expect over the next few days. Then we will start prayer walking the Panama City Beach area, where we will be ministering this week. Our nightly ministry will start at 9PM on Sunday.

This week is a lighter Spring Break week, since many schools take their break next week. However, there are around 250 Beach Reach participants, and plenty of people to minister to. Please be praying that God will bring us into contact with those that are ready to respond to the love of Christ. Ask for protection and boldness for our students as they put themselves into unfamiliar ministry situations. We know that God has worked in mighty ways through this event in the past and we are looking forward to great things again this year!

Our daily schedule Sunday-Thursday will look something like this:

  • 9:15 AM- 1:00 PM Pancake Breakfast (serving free food to Spring Breakers and sharing the Gospel as opportunities open up)
  • 1:00 PM- 5:00 PM Rest and Recover
  • 5:00 PM Group Dinner
  • 7:00 PM Group Worship
  • 9:00 PM-2:00 AM Night Ministry (van pickups, prayer room, street conversations, etc.)
